Bear Mountain Lodge is a remote lodge tucked away in the most beautiful corner of Alaska; with some of the best coastal brown bear viewing in the world. The lodge & cabins are on some of the only private property on the north side of the bay surrounded by Lake Clark National Park. The lodge is located just south of Mt.Illiamna in Chinitna Bay. Chinitna Bay is known to have world class bear viewing that you get the pleasure of viewing the wildlife in their natural habitat. No lines, no timed platforms, no large crowds, and we are the ONLY full service lodge in Chintna Bay. We offer day bear viewing, or extend your bear viewing opportunity with our overnight lodging in one of our cabins. Our lodge is in the process of being handicapped accessible and has modern conveniences for those that are turned away from everyone else, so that everyone has the opportunity to see Alaska’s true pristine scenery and wildlife. Not only are we family owned and operated, but we are a family friendly lodge. When you stay with us, we strive to make this part of your Alaskan adventure to be the BEST experience and so that you will have memories that will last your lifetime.
We have some of the best Alaskan bush pilots that depart from Soldotna/Kenai, and fly approximately 75 miles across Cook Inlet to Chinitna Bay with a beach landing at our lodge. This takes approximately 1 hour each way. There are 4 cabins, each of which have at least 4 or more single beds, private bathrooms with showers, solar lights, and running water. The cabins are at full capacity with 24 guests. All Alaskan meals are prepared in the main lodge and are inclusive on your overnight stay. We are in operation May 15th – September 15th.
